Kneading Conference West
The Kneading Conference West, September 13-15, 2012, in Mount Vernon, Washington. Kneading Conference West grows out of the successful Maine Kneading Conference that began in Skowhegan in 2007. The focus is craft breads and restoring local grain systems. Kneading Conference West brings together Northwest grain farmers and millers, agricultural researchers, novice and professional bakers, wood-fired oven enthusiasts, maltsters, food entrepreneurs, and community organizers. For two days of talks and hands-on workshops, participants will exchange traditions, cutting-edge research, and practical skills, resulting in a strengthened community of grain producers, millers, artisan bakers, and consumers. $300 to register which includes all meals, from scratch, using local harvests and products.
